The leopard shark (Triakis semifasciata) is an iconic shark species found up and down the coast of California. They’re frequently found cruising in the shallows looking for bivalves, crustaceans, and worms. Their attractive patterning should not be seen as a warning sign, as they are not dangerous and getting close to them is quite a special moment!
